dust cover inspiration

2 Dec

so im designing a set of dust covers for five of Haruki murakami’s books: The elephant vanishes, The wind-up bird chronicles, Kafka on the shore, Dance dance dance and Norwegian wood. I chose Olly Moss as inspiration for the pieces as i love his work and im thinking of an abstract sihouette theme for the covers and i think his work is very graphic looking and has a lot of stark contrasts as he uses a lot of black and just one or two other colours.

here’s the link to his site:

also emily forgot’s work while more typography based is really cool, sharp and graphic looking so i researched her stuff too.
